Meta Descriptions

A meta description is a short summary of a web page that appears in search engine results pages (SERPs) that is typically 155 characters long and should be written to accurately and concisely describe the content of the page.

A well-written meta description can help improve a page’s click-through rate (CTR), which can lead to more traffic to the site. Keep in mind, though, that meta descriptions are not a direct ranking factor; however, they can play an indirect role in improving a page’s ranking by increasing CTR.

I tried creating the meta descriptions for this website for this part of the course. Here are two examples:

Page summary: This page showcases the website owner’s extensive experience in Marketing with a focus on. This resume, which is copied from the document that is sent out when job searching, provides a detailed overview of the website owner’s skills, experience, and accomplishments. The meta description could be improved to be more aligned with SEO principles by including more relevant keywords and phrases.

New title: Brenda Cantu | Marketing Manager | Results-Driven and Experienced
New meta description: Experienced Marketing Manager with a passion for creating and executing creative marketing strategies. Expertise in all aspects of marketing, including branding, advertising, public relations, and social media.

Current title: Digital Marketing and e-commerce
Current meta description: None

Page summary: The Grow with Google Certification provides a comprehensive overview of the different parts of digital marketing and e-commerce.
