UX/UI Design – Cross-Platform Experience
Para la versión en español, de click aquí.
This was the final, and undoubtedly the most complex, project for my UX/UI Design Google Coursera Courses. Despite its challenges, I embraced the design thinking process, meticulously following the established best practices at Google. This comprehensive methodology provided a clear roadmap, guiding me through a series of critical steps, including user research, persona development, and iterative prototyping.
You can find my thinking process below, along with everything I created during the course.
Empathize
From a young age, I’ve always been an eager learner, and I quickly recognized the potential of online education to empower everyone. This passion fueled my exploration into the world of teenagers yearning to unleash their creativity through writing. Immersed in their experiences, I sought to understand their needs, ambitions, and roadblocks. Armed with in-depth personas, insightful interviews, comprehensive surveys, and nuanced social media analysis, I unearthed valuable insights into their preferences and the key ingredients for unlocking their writing potential.
This will include:
- Personas
- User Stories
- User Journeys
Define
Having grasped the user base, I honed in on the core challenges these teens faced: mastering writing techniques, finding effective mentors, building a supportive community, and overcoming the limitations of generic one-size-fits-all approaches.
This will include:
- Problem statement
- Value proposition
Ideate
I embarked on a brainstorming session, unleashing a torrent of potential solutions. From timed writing sprints to gamified challenges punctuated by points and streaks, I explored a vibrant spectrum of ideas, each meticulously crafted with the user’s needs as my guiding star.
This will include:
- Crazy 8s example
- User Flow
- Big-picture Storyboard
- User Interaction Storyboard
Prototype
With a few promising ideas in hand, I transitioned into the prototyping phase, transforming my concepts into tangible representations. I crafted low-fidelity prototypes using paper and sketches, allowing for rapid iterations and feedback from fellow designers who were also working on this course and potential users. I also learned how to use Figma to create low-fidelity prototypes and mockups.
This will include:
- Sitemap
- Wireframes
- Mockups
- Flow
- Responsive Design
Test
To validate the effectiveness of my designs, I conducted unmoderated user testing sessions, observing how fans interacted with the prototypes. I gathered valuable feedback on usability, intuitiveness, and overall satisfaction, enabling me to refine my designs further.
Through this iterative design thinking process, I successfully designed a user experience to teach creative writing to teenagers, solidifying my commitment to user-centered design principles.
